SCIENTIFIC CENTER
It coordinates the scientific-research work being carried out at the SAUA. The following directions are worth of special attention.
- Preservation and usage of genetic fund and initial selection material of crops and their wild relatives.
- Synthesis of the new chemical means of plant protection and crops growth stimulators and elaboration of the methods of their mass production.
- Cultivation and introduction of high frost resistant, yield, native and hybrid sorts of grape with high immunity.
- Selection of crops, elaboration of high technologies for cultivationand seed-growing.
- Elaboration and introduction of effective measures of control of crop diseases, pests and weeds.
- Agroecological monitoring of soil types, improvement of agrochemical properties of soil, elaboration and introduction of soil protection systems of Agriculture.
- Improvement of technologies of garden, over moistened and swamped salt-marsh melioration and prevention of salinization for the second time.
- Improvement of the breed of agricultural animals and birds, and creation of new populations.
- Improvement of the feeding routine and ration of agricultural animals.
- Improvement of treatment methods of agricultural animal diseases, elaboration and introduction of new methods of treatment and medicines.
- Mechanization of the technological processes of agriculture, production, testing small machines and devices, and elaboration of complex programs of their service.
- Elaboration and introduction of effective technologies of agricultural products preservation and processing of raw materials.
- Solution of the problems of economical reforms, marketing, price formation, and management in agricultural industrial complex.
- Elaboration of optimal systems of rational usage of water resources and crop irrigation.
- Since 2000 the Scientific Center has organized almost traditional international scientific conferences with the participation of scientists and specialists from the higher educational institutions and scientific-research institutes of the Republic, colleagues from profile universities of Europe, as well as representatives of the international organizations accredited in Armenia.
The scientific center coordinates the activity of the Student Scientific Communities of the SAUA. The University students also hold annual scientific conferences. The participation of their fellow-students of the leading & educational establishments of Armenia and Europe makes them more representative. Materials of conferences are published in separate collections. In its turn the scientific activity of the University students is appreciated at its true value. As a rule, at different conferences and public showings they are awarded diplomas and prizes. The University pays great attention to the training of the scientific personnel. Nearly 100 post graduates study on all the specializations of the departments of the day-time and correspondent instruction. Some post-graduates after defending their theses pass on to teaching in the profile chairs.
