International Relations
The strategical partner of the SAUA is the Department of Agriculture of the USA. Within the framework of the program of USDA Marketing Assistance Project the SAUA has traditionally close relations with the A&M University of Texas. Within the same project jointly with the SAUA in 1999 Armenian-American Agribusiness Teaching Center was established, which makes opportunity for the students, magistrates and lecturers of the SAUA to be re-qualified in the Universities of Texas, Fresno, Georgia, Washington, etc.
Within the Tempus program the SAUA closely collaborates with the German University Hohenheim and the Dutch University Vageningen. New specializations and academic programs have been introduced at the SAUA due to the methodical assistance of German and Dutch specialists and also due to efforts of the lecturers of the SAUA, re-qualified in Germany and Holland.
Within the same program the Language Teaching Center was established equipped with modern audio and video devices and scientific-methodical literature.
At present the SAUA jointly with the University Hohenheim (Stutgard), Austrian Agricultural University (Vienna) and Paris-Grinion Agricultural University (Paris) works at the same project “Economics of agriculture and reforms in the sphere of ecological education in the South Caucasus”. Within this project the SAUA co-operates with the Georgian State Agrarian University (Tbilisi) and Azerbaijani Agricultural Institute (Ganja).
Since 2001 close relations have been established with the Swedish University of Agricultural Science (Forestry School of Skinskateberg) in the educational sphere. The result of the first stage of the joint project was the establishment of the Forestry Chair at the SAUA in 2003 and elaboration of new curricula in accordance with the vital problems of the Republic’s forestry. Within the second stage (2004-2007) the improvement of professional skills of lecturers and consolidation of material-technical basis of the Chair are provided. Special attention will be given to the programs for practical training.
Within a long-term project (2002-2009) the SAUA collaborates with the German University of Applied Agricultural Sciences of Weihenstephan in the field of agricultural management. Annually 8-10 magistrates of the SAUA continue their studies in Germany.
The State Agrarian University of Armenia collaborates with the nature protection federation department of Germany on questions concerning the development of organic agriculture. A program was confirmed on the publication of the journal jointly by Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The SAUA develops traditional links with K.A. Timiryazev State Agrarian University of Russia, Moscow K.I. Skryabin Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology State Academy, Moscow V.P. Goryachkin State Agro-Engineering University in the sphere of the introduction of new educational-methodical programs and joint publications.
In this purpose the SAUA establishes relations with the Ukraine National Agrarian University and Byelorussian State Agriculture University.
The SAUA actively collaborates with the State Agricultural University of Georgia in the sphere of joint regional projects and publishing activity.
A joint scientific-research program on viticulture and horticulture is carried out at the Agrarian Academy of Khebey province in China, which provides the mutual exchange of experience and specialists.
The SAUA develops consolidated links with the Chanie branch of Mediterranean Agronomy Institute (Greece), where several magistrates and post-graduates actually continue their study.
Among the international organizations the SAUA collaborates with the International Research Center on Dry Agricultural Fields (ICARDA) and UNO Organization on the Problems of Foodstuff and Agriculture (FAO).
