ERASMUS MUNDUS External Cooperation Window for Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan
The new call for EM ECW Lot 6 project (2009-2010) is announced. This project provides opportunities of mobility to students (undergraduate & master), researchers (doctorate & post-doctorate), academic staff, as well as executives of the private and public sector. Priority is given on an impartial distribution of available positions to students with special needs and with socio-economical problems (without parents, divorced or ill parents, very low income, etc.), through a transparent selection process making use of a weight coefficient according to the category each candidate belongs to.
The project is coordinated by the Alexander Technological Educational Institution of Thessaloniki, Greece. It is addressed to 11 Institutions and other bodies located in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan, while the 6 EU partners are from Portugal, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Latvia and Bulgaria.
The scholarships for the South Caucasus students and researchers, depending on the level of studies, are from 1.000-1.800 euro per month, whereas for the EU students and researchers are from 800-1.800 euro. The monthly subsistence allowance for the academic staff is 2.500 euro.
The program also covers the air ticket and health/accident insurance for all the beneficiaries.
The project provides following mobility opportunities from ASAU to EU:
- 2 UNDERGRADUATE ASAU’s STUDENTS to ATEI of Thessaloniki, Greece – (1/1/2010 to 31/10/2010 (10 months))
- 1 PhD STUDENT to ATEI of Thessaloniki, Greece – (1/10/2009 to 31/5/2011 (20 months))
- 1 POST- DOCTORATE , PERIOD OF MOBILITY: 15/3/2010 to 15/9/2010 (6 months) to University of Rousse “Angel Kanchev”, Bulgaria
- 1 Academic to University of Tuscia, Italy 1 month (March 2010)
From EU to ASAU (1/03/2010 – 31/08/2010 (6 months):
- 1 U - Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, Portugal
- 1 M - Rezekne Higher Education Institution, Latvia
The students' application file to the International Relations Department of ASAU should also include the following documents (translated in English):
- Academic records (undergraduate students) or attested copy of academic degree (bachelor, master, PhD, post-doctorate)
- English (and/or French, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Bulgarian, Latvian) language certificate. Proof of English Language Knowledge:
- TOEFL 550 (Paper Based) or TOEFL 79, minimum of 15 in each section (Internet Based) IELTS 6.0 overall, minimum 5.0 in each section
- Cambridge Proficiency/Michigan Proficiency
- Certificate about any socio-economical problem, disability, special need or medical problem
- Evidence of nationality (copy of passport)
The members of the consortium, the offered fields of study, the selection criteria, the period of stay, as well as the selection process is published on the project's web site(http://erasmusmundus5.teithe.gr).
The deadline for the submission of application is 25/11/2009 (exception for PhD student - 20/08/2009).

The applicants who are currently registered in a University will also hand in a copy of the application to the International Relations Department of the ASAU.
