AGRIBUSINESS TEACHING CENTER The Agribusiness Teaching Center (ATC) was established in 2000 through the collaborative effort by the Armenian State Agrarian University (ASAU), Texas A&M University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Marketing Assistance Project (active in Armenia in 1992-2005). The ATC provides agribusiness education to achieve sustainable entrepreneurship in the food and agriculture sectors in Armenia and Georgia. It prepares agribusiness specialists armed with broad economic, marketing, and managerial views, up-to-date communication skills and good knowledge of English, which makes the ATC graduates competitive in the growing Armenian and Georgian business sector. Currently, 93 students are enrolled, of whom 14 are from the Republic of Georgia.
The ATC is
established as a Department within the Armenian State Agrarian
University and offers a two-year and three month program with
Agribusiness and Marketing concentration based on a four-year and
three month curriculum at ASAU. The ATC curriculum is comprised of a
set of required courses and internships. It is western-structured,
based on the undergraduate degree agricultural economics curriculum
of Texas A&M. Courses are taught in English by Armenian and American
instructors with graduate degrees from U.S. and European
universities.
All students graduating from the ATC should have completed minimum of 130 ECTS credits. The ATC is now a recognized regional business school with a western-structured curriculum, qualified and enthusiastic instructors, and up-to-date learning tools. Classrooms and other facilities are furnished with modern equipment and technology, which gives the students a complete working environment for both classroom and independent study. A high-tech computer lab with unlimited internet access is at students’ disposal. See more at www.icare.am/atc. |
